TWENTY YEARS OF OUR COMMUNITY
SUPPORTING BREAST CANCER RESEARCH
From 1999 to 2012, the community of Rosedale partnered with the national, non-profit organization, "Rally For The Cure" and the "Florida Suncoast Affiliate" to raise funds in support of breast cancer research. Since 2013, we have partnered with the the national organization, "Play For P.I.N.K." in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
It all started when a former Rosedale resident, Cherie Pollack, organized the first "Rally for the Cure" golf tournament on February 11, 1999 with eighteen of the "Nine-Hole" golfers raising $700. Since then a number of Rosedale women have taken the lead, with the support of the Rosedale community and the Rosedale Golf & Country Club, to organize an ever-expanding series of events to raise money in support of breast cancer research.
In 2006, the magazine, "Golf For Women", published a 5-page article on the Rosedale community's work on raising funds for breast cancer research and the Rosedale women who have made it possible.

In 2009, to celebrate 10 years of successfully raising approximately $460,000, Janet Weisbord and Carrie Mueller chronicled the efforts of the Rosedale community, led by an energetic succession of chairwomen. Click below for this 4-page document.
Over the years, while raising funds for breast cancer research, our local newspapers, The East County Observer and The Bradenton Herald-Tribune, published articles about these Rosedale events.
